Fuelling the long run, simply
Coach Dmitrijs Serjogins·5 min read·
For any run under 75 minutes, water is usually enough. Above that, you start to benefit from carbohydrate — around 30 to 60 grams per hour, depending on body size and intensity.
Practice fuelling on training runs, not race day. Try gels, chews, real food. Find what sits well. Then repeat it. The marathon is not the place for experiments.
